Faculty Performance Production: East Coast Curriculum (DRA4168.01)

Dina Janis

East Coast Curriculum is a modern day riff on Arthur Schnitzer’s LA Ronde with liberal arts college as the theme. A play about love, sex, politics, feminism, friendship, family and the fear, ecstasy and absurdity of being young. This is a new play, and this production will facilitate a developmental process in which the playwright continues to change and adapt her work, visiting the rehearsal process during the term and making script revisions.

There are 7 female and 5 male characters in this play, and the production will be cast with a firm commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Lucy Thurber is the author of: Where We’re Born, Ashville, Killers & Other Family, Stay, Bottom of the World, Monstrosity, Scarcity, The Locus, The InsurgentsDillingham City and other plays.

This faculty-directed production will guide student actors toward a successful performance of the play, with preparation, rehearsals, and performances constituting the students’ commitment.
