Postwar Narrative Cinema (FV2142.03)

This course will help students explore various forms of narrative cinema after the Second World War. Films will be studied in the context of the movements that inspired them, such as neorealism, the French New Wave, Dogma 95, and Third Cinema. While this course seeks to help students understand major trends in film history, it also aims at building a broader understanding of these trends in relation to the worldwide changes of the XXth century.
