Prek-5 Education Policy  (APA2318.02)

Brian Campion

What would it take to create the best elementary education program (pre-k-5) in the United States? Using Vermont as a model, we will evaluate elementary education, review the effectiveness of recent policies and develop policies that would improve this period in a child’s education. We will hear from policy makers, educators and others who have been on the front lines of this issue. Additionally, we will look at how our educational system has handled the COVID19 pandemic. What was the transition to educating from home like for Vermont families, what are educators expecting when students return to school and how might we assist with this transition.
