Opportunity to workshop a new piece, Earth Requiem, with music by 4 different composers: Eve Beglarian, Jeff Beal, Errollyn Wallen and Sophy Him. It was commissioned by the artist Diana Wege, to be presented with a series of her paintings. It is for community and student choirs – from different parts of the country to present the premier in New York City, late spring 2021. The piece includes readings- the text is a combination of environmental and religious (from a variety of sources) readings, and minimal original sung text. We plan to begin learning choral parts. move to a full format in the spring. The piece will be presented in workshop format early spring 2021, possibly at Mass MOCA.
