Introduction to Drawing and 2D images: Sketchbook/Journal/Woodcut (PRI2124.01) (cancelled)

Thorsten Dennerline

This course is an introduction to the study of visual language for artists. To start this exploration, we will start by binding a journal/sketchbook. We will then proceed to study the fundamentals of looking and creating images within a two dimensional picture space. We will start a rigorous drawing practice based on observation of, the world around us, our own decision making processes and the work of others. If we are able to meet in person, we will also create wood block prints based on these practices. If we cannot meet in person, we will do group drawing activities in our books. Outside of class time, students will try to fill their sketchbook/journals with work.
