Dance Workshop has been held at Bennington College since its beginning in 1932. It is a meeting place for all dance students, dance faculty, and staff. Here, students of all levels, undergraduate through graduate, show and discuss works in progress. All of the participants practice articulating and refining their own processes, and all are involved in learning how to see and discuss the work of others. Dance Workshop is also a place for announcements, community improvisation sessions, guest showings, panel discussions, and multiple conversations.
For the 1st 7-week session, Dance Workshop is also available as a 1-credit course. For those choosing to take this for credit, students will write a journal of their observations and their questions weekly, which will be submitted by the end of the 7 weeks.
Dance Workshop will continue through the second 7-weeks, but without credit attached.
