With the current focus on anti blackness in the USA, this course will demonstrate a much larger problem. We will show where black populations are within this hemisphere, then quickly focus on black life and struggle in Brazil. We will focus on how anti blackness is organized in Brazilian life and lifts up forms of black resistance in art, culture, and politics.
