How can we be together and create something together, when we are physically not in the same space and time? In light of the above question, this course will be fully remote, facilitated through a combination of synchronous remote sessions and individual outside-class projects.
Throughout the course, with body-centered minds, we will interview each other, and exchange conversations, poems, ideas, songs, drawings and inspirations. In addition, various movement practices will be introduced in each session in order to activate and facilitate the body-based thinking and communication process. This course is open to students from any discipline who are interested in exploring an interdisciplinary approach to the body, and cultivating and deepening their own practices and visions while staying in communication with and inspired by others. Students can participate in this course from anywhere remotely. By the end of the term, emerging out of this process and evolving spontaneously, we will have a coherent “dance” on a course website.
Learning Outcomes:
-Cultivate a community, an invisible network and a collective landscape through remote exchanges and communication
-Discover your own and new “dance” format
-Cultivate an expanded viewpoint on and approach to performing arts and body-based art
