Vermont Education Policy (APA2452.01)

Brian Campion

Church and State, School Mascots, Literacy, Shared Governance, and the teacher shortage are just a sample of the subjects addressed in the last session of the Vermont Legislature. How were these topics chosen, what legislation was passed and why? What is the legislative process involved in making education policy and what still needs to be done? This class will throw you into the behind-the-scenes and the public process of making and passing laws in Vermont and provide your voice on what the next steps should be toward improving Vermont education.
