This is a costume history class through the lens of garments worn for manual labor. Possible topics to explore may include the story of fabrics and fibers, such as denim, cotton, linen, wool, and hemp, various western and non western garments such as English smocks, Japanese hakama, and Indian lungi.

Learn about elements of western and non-western clothing and associated social history
