A continuation of Beginning guitar
Learning the 7 major scale forms encompenssing the neck
A study of each string and what and weather the notes are
Comprehensive rhythm notation studies - one source of info is usually a
publication -”Sight To Sound” by Leon White
This leads up to learning sight readingmusic on the guitar - putting together
reading the notes on the staff translating to guitar and playing in real time.
Learning the Blues Scale
Learning the Pentatonic Scale
How to construct chords on the guitar with anytype of accidental
Sight reading chord charts
Will utilize various instruction manuals depending on class level and direction
Delivery Method: Fully remote
Prerequisites: An audition is required or successful completion of Beginning Guitar, and audition. Auditions by appointment via Zoom, Skype or Facetime, from May 2-10. To schedule, email hcox@bennington.edu. Students must have their own guitar.
