This advanced course focuses on the creation of interdisciplinary projects that include electronic music/sound as a primary component. Students will work in collaborative pairs or individually to develop a substantial semester-long compositional, installation, performance or intermedia project. Projects will be informed by students’ ongoing  interdisciplinary research, experimental process, and documentation of work-in-progress. Documentation will include journals and audiovisual media, to be presented in class for constructive dialogue and feedback.  We will also discuss short readings that explore critical, conceptual and aesthetic issues in contemporary arts practice, as a means of supporting students’ articulation of their intentions for their work. Cross-disciplinary collaborations featuring e-music/sound are encouraged. Students will be expected to meet in labs outside of class to develop their work, and to publicly present their projects at the end of the term.
