Leadership in Diverse Groups (MOD2260.01)

This module will examine the components of leadership in groups. Coverage will be given to empirical work that focuses on different styles of leadership and their intersection with group elements such as composition and diversity, negotiation, intra- and intergroup relations, and social justice. Key outcome dimensions to be considered include performance, interpersonal processes, and member need satisfaction. Leadership is conceptualized as involving both social influence and group dynamics. Students will apply the principles to historical and contemporary leaders.
