Bands meet for a 7-week intensive. The band itself works a minimum 6 hours of rehearsal and face-time per week. Songwriters and leaders do more, meeting with instructor for private coaching. All culminates in the 5th and 6th weeks when instructor visits campus to coach in person. Resulting in a Band Feast, a marathon battle of the bands in the Deane Carriage Barn one week before Long Weekend.
While instructor is remote for the first four weeks, bandleaders are responsible for finding rehearsal space (when and if the Carriage Barn is unavailable) where the band can set up, play and be heard by the instructor through a mike and a laptop. After the show, we will meet once again remote for a debrief.
