This is a course for music composition students. Each student produces a sizable piece for an assigned small ensemble such as a piano trio or string quartet. There are regular reading sessions of the pieces in progress, culminating in a class presentation and recording of the completed works. The class time is used in three ways: for analysis and study of works composed for our chosen medium; for the reading sessions; and for examination of the student’s works-in-progress.
