Digitizing Photographs (APA2360.01)

This course will introduce students to digitizing negative photographs, slides, and help them understand that digitizing negatives and slide photographs preserves them from physical decay and deterioration that can occur over time, and enhance accessibility to their photographs. Students will be asked to bring their negative photographs or slides for digitizing, editing, and copying to an external hard drive or cloud space.


Learning Outcomes:
• Develop their skills in digitizing photographs, 35mm and 120mm film negatives, slides, and 4x5” through 8x10 film negatives.

• Basic editing digital image with Adobe Photoshop.

• Understanding file formats and image parameters, for long term and short-term preservation.

• Knowledge of supplies and equipment
