Environmental Action Fellowship Pre-Fellowship Class (APA4162.02) (course level updated as of 5/16/2022)

Students who have been accepted into the Endeavor Foundation Environmental Action Fellowship are required to complete a pre-fellowship class in the final 7 weeks of the Fall semester and a post-fellowship class in the first 7 weeks of the Spring semester.

This pre-fellowship class prepares the students for their fellowship experience during the January term.  Students will learn about the history of the environmental movement, learn about how non profit advocacy organizations advance their work and the role of citizen activism in the environmental movement. Students will learn research, writing and organizational skills so they are well prepared to have a significant fellowship experience.


Learning Outcomes:
Students will learn all the skills needed to effectively perform during the January fellowship.
Quick research skills, writing, communication skills, media outreach, social media, community organizing will all be covered in the class.
Students will also learn how to be well informed on contemporary environmental challenges.
